About...

My name is Thomas Masseck and I live in Listerby a small village by the coast, between Ronneby and Karlskrona, in the southeast corner of Sweden.

I have always been drawn to nature, as a kind of meditation or source from which I can fill up new strength and energy. My interests in nature of course includes its inhabitants as birds, animals, plants and flowers.

When I´m out on my "walkabouts" there seems to be no problems and I can enjoy and appreciate life to the fullest. The problems that do appear are more of a survival or practical kind. They have to be solved right away and give no bad conscience.

Most of the times I make my hikes alone, by foot or kayak. It gives me time to think and reflect about life and my being. That is very important to me since my work is mentally stressful and exhausting. I need a valve to open up occasionally.

My favourite places for rambles are situated along the shoreline of Blekinge, a small province at the southeast of Sweden. We have here a most beautiful and varied nature and archipelago.

My photo interest started early as well. I bought my first SLR-camera, a Canon AE1 in 1978. I have always been the one among my friends that carries a camera for documentation.

Today I use a Nikon D7000 with 70-300 and 18-105 lenses and a Sony Cybershot RX10 MarkIV.
